Dr. Mbah Cypress, New Medical Adviser at the Regional Hospital Bamenda

Dr. Mbah Cypress is now the nrw Medical Adviser of the Regional Hospital Bamenda. He was appointed by Ministerial
Decision No 1207/D/MINSANTE/CAB of 12th April 2021 appointing medical Advisers in second and third category hospitals.
Following his appointment, the hospital administration recognized his assumption of duty in a brief installation ceremony that took place in the hospital's multipurpose hall.

During the ceremony, the appointment decision was ready out by the S ervice Manager, Mr. Fung John and thereafter the Director proceeded with his installation speech. Dr. Nsame Denis, Director of the Regional Hospital Bamenda, outlined general indicators which are punctuality, assiduity, attendwnce at all meetings with the director such as coordination meetings, major ward rounds and administrative meetings. As for the specific expectations of the Medical Adviser, the Director staff supervision, organization of doctors' work plans, pedagogic support to students who come on internship, chairing of meetings of doctors, death audit meetings as well as anti-corruption and disciplinary meetings.

Dr. Mbah Cypress, taking the floor, extended words of gratitude to the Minister for entrusting him with such a post and promised the hospital administration and colleagues that he was going to be at his best to the service of all and sundry. He appealed for collaboration from everyone so as to help him to attain his objectives.

It should be noted that the arm in the hospital which holds staff together and which can ensure a successful collaboration between staff and the Medical Adviser is the Bamenda Regional Hospital Staff Association (BARHSA). Its President, Mrs Kiyeh Marie-Anne, pledged its togetherness to enforce the work of the Medical adviser for the good of everyone.

It should equally be noted that the position of Medical Adviser at the Regional hospital has been vacant for the past 5years. Past directors have simply been co-opting doctors to assist in that domain.

Who is Dr. Mbah Cypress?
Doctor Mbah Cypress had his FSLC in 1984 st GS Ashong, Ordinary Level certificate in 1989 in Batibo, Advanced level certificate in 1991 at GHS Mbengwi. In 1998, he obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé 1.
